My Newborn and Infant Favorites

Whether you’ve just found out that you’re pregnant or you’re in your nesting stage ready for your sweet baby to arrive, these are my newborn and infant favorites that I actually used and highly recommend!

4moms The MamaRoo4 Multi-Motion Baby Swing

I loved the MamaRoo4 from 4moms because it offers five different motion settings: Car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, rock-a-bye and wave. It also has four built in sounds and has the option for you to either connect your phone with a plug that’s provided or you can connect through bluetooth, which I found to be pretty convenient. While your baby is in motion and checking out their surroundings, there are 3 interactive, removable balls that are great for sensory support. I used this every day from the time that we brought our baby girl home from the hospital up until she was about 4 months old only because she was really active, but can ideally be used up until your baby is 6 months old. I would put her in it to give myself a break (all moms need), help her to relax or to help her sit or nap safely.

4moms cleanwater™ tub

This was gifted to me by a friend who said I would love this tub and she told no lie! Baths can already be scary for a first time mom, but throw in trying to handle a wet, soapy, squirmy newborn, nope, not for me! No, but really, the 4moms Cleanwater Tub took all the scaries out of bath time for us. My two favorite things about this tub are: the temperature monitoring and the continuous water flow out of the tub to keep the bath water clean. The temperature monitoring is great because it takes the worry out of if the water is too hot or too cold for the baby. It lights up green if you’re in the safety zone and beeps and flashes blue for too cold and red for too hot. The tub also comes with an infant seat and a cup for rinsing the baby off. My baby girl is 10 months old and I still will use the tub without the infant seat if she has a bad diaper rash and needs to soak in clean water. The downside to this tub is that it is on the bigger side but if that’s not a worry for you, I definitely recommend purchasing this or adding it to your registry!

Nuk Comfy Orthodontic Pacifiers

If it works, don’t change it or whatever people say! If you’re anything like me, choosing the “right” pacifier for your baby can feel a little overwhelming since there are so many different types. Is it going to cause nipple confusion? Is it going to be comfortable for your baby? Will these cause an orthodontic issue? The questions can go on and on, but I’m here to tell you that these have worked wonderfully for my baby and you should definitely consider these as an option. We’ve been using these since she was born and we haven’t had any issues even with me breastfeeding! I initially chose these because of how soft and durable they were, the shape fit perfectly under her nose so I wouldn’t worry about her not being able to breathe, they’re designed with sensitive skin in mind, they’re made with 100% medical-grade silicone and there are two sizes for when she grew out of the 0-6 month sizes. If you’re stressing over which pacifier to get, make sure to put these on the list to try out. Who knows, your baby may love these pacifiers and you won’t have to try different ones!

Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple

Originally we started out with the Dr. Brown’s Anti-Colic bottles and they worked okay I guess *shrugs shoulders*. I’m pretty sure these didn’t “prevent” colic totally but they may have helped. We ended up changing bottles to the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple because the Dr. Brown’s were leaking (not okay when you’ve just spent 30 minutes pumping that now leaking milk) and let’s just say that cleaning those bottles and all of its parts was not it. If I would’ve known about the Philips bottle before, I would’ve put those on my registry instead of Dr. Browns. They’ve never leaked for me (major pro) and the natural response nipple was really similar to breastfeeding which never led to any nipple confusion.

Boba Wrap Baby Carrier

In those early days when your baby won’t let you put them down even for one second, our natural mama response kicks in and we know what to do: baby wear. The Boba Wrap was given to me by a friend who had loved hers and told me I’d love it too. She wasn’t wrong. I used that wrap every day, multiple times a day to take the dog out, do chores around the house and carry her when we would leave the house. It’s so stretchy and comfortable even my husband would wear it to give me a break. I used it up until my baby was about 3 or 4 months old, but it can be used longer than that. The only reason I stopped using it was because I needed more support for my back once she started getting heavier and then I switched to the Infantino Carry on Carrier.

Infantino Carry on Carrier

I know there are a lot of different baby carriers out there that range in quality, comfortability, and price, so choosing one can be difficult. I transitioned to wearing my baby in the Infantino Carry On Carrier when she was about 3 ½ – 4 months old because my Boba Wrap was hurting my back and shoulders when I’d carry her. The Infantino is really padded on the straps which makes carrying her so much more comfortable. And since they’re really padded, for me, that means I can do more stuff like carry her for longer, it had great neck support when she was smaller, and the inside of the carrier is padded so if I bump into the counter while carrying her, she doesn’t even feel it. Also, aren’t pockets the way to a woman’s heart? Well, at least they are when it comes to carrying a baby and needing more hands than you have. This carrier has five pockets which makes running into the grocery store quick and easy or just taking the dog out in the morning not such a hassle! My girl is 10 months old and weighs about 20 pounds and we carried her through Disney World with no problem using this carrier!

Beaba Baby Cook Solo 4-1 Baby Food Maker

The time has come to start introducing solids to your baby and it can be an overwhelming and exciting task, at least I know it was for me! The Beaba 4-1 Food Maker was and still is a life saver for me. I’ve used it to steam apples, pears, and potatoes, shred meat, and purée fruits. It’s super easy to use and all you have to do is add the amount of water it says if steaming and voila! You’re all done and your baby is ready to eat! I plan on using the Beaba for many years to come!

Ivy and Ever Organic Cotton Muslin Swaddle Blankets

Ah, swaddling! The closeness your baby desires when you aren’t holding them. I know some babies don’t need to be swaddled but in my case, swaddling was absolutely necessary and oh so helpful! My friend had actually passed two of these swaddles down to us and after trying the zip up swaddles, I gave the Ivy and Ever swaddles a try. Instantly my husband (the swaddling master) and I fell in love. They’re big enough to get a nice tight swaddle on your baby, they’re really soft and stretchy, and they come in a few really cute patterns! We also have used them as blankets for doctors appointments or over her carseat, so they’re definitely worth the price.

Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor

The dreaded day has come when your bedside bassinet is no longer suitable for your rolling baby and now they need to sleep in their crib. You hear so many scary stories about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death) that can leave you paralyzed with fear. Luckily, the Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor can help ease some of your worries. This monitor will show you within the app the temperature in your baby’s room, their heartbeat per second, motion or sound coming from the crib, and conducts a sleep study during naps and bedtime that monitor’s their sleep patterns that then gives you hints and tips on how to help your baby get the best sleep possible. The monitor also has a dimmable nightlight for late night changes, white noise, and a two-way talk option. With the new update to the app, you can now keep an eye on your baby while scrolling Instagram or TikTok.

The way your baby’s heartbeat is monitored is by using a swaddle, breathing band or sleep sack. I’ve used all three and loved each of them! I only have had one time that the heart beat monitor alarm went off and that was most likely because I didn’t put the band on tight enough. The alarm that went off on the monitor in her room and on our phones woke my husband and I up with a quickness, so it definitely did its job! Talk about it scared all three of us. The monitor comes with one year of Insights Basic for free but I did end up purchasing a subscription to get extra insights on my baby’s sleep patterns and have the option to see her in the crib while away from home. I know that there are a few monitoring systems that are similar to the Nanit Pro, but if you’re in the market for this type of technology, I highly suggest you check out the Nanit and all that it offers!

Nuna Tavo Next with Nuna Pipa Rx Car Seat

Let me start by saying that I absolutely LOVE my Nuna Tavo Travel System with the Nuna Pipa Rx Car Seat! First off, I love the car seat because the jersey fabric is just top notch and has been so comfy for my baby since the day we brought her home. The insert is removable and customizable to grow with your baby over time. It also has a large canopy, but then has an extendable cover that magnetically attaches to the sides of the car seat to give an even better covering for your baby to take a nap or to just relax. This car seat is also fire retardant. One of the main reasons that I chose this car seat is because we can easily and safely travel with it without lugging around the heavy base. Who wants to do that? Not I! So that’s why I went with the Pipa Rx.

I chose the Nuna Tavo Next stroller over the Nuna Mixx Next solely because I don’t have anywhere to store the attachments that the Mixx Stroller includes. If I did, I probably would’ve went with the Mixx, but that’s for another time. The Tavo Next I believe is just as good and that’s why I went with it. It has enough storage for jackets or miscellaneous items underneath, the leather handle is so comfortable and adjustable, the infant insert has been great for my baby and it’s a super smooth ride for the both of us on our long Saturday morning walks. It also has a really nice magnetic buckle, a large covering with three seating options for your baby to lounge, and your Nuna Pipa Rx just clicks right into the stroller to make it a solid travel system! It doesn’t come with a cup holder, but there’s a specific Nuna Cup Holder attachment that you can purchase or you can just get a universal attachment like I did off of Amazon. I know this travel system can be expensive for some, but if you have the opportunity to purchase this stroller, I strongly recommend it! It’s an investment that will pay off for years to come!
